Exploring translation and memory, this piece is composed of layers of melodies that move through various cycles. With western instrumentation and harmony it explores the form of Javanese music, using tempo shifts to determine structure, cycles, and heterophony. It was written after I returned from a sojourn in Central Java and draws from my experiences of translation and the confusion, or clarity, of my memory.

It was made for Arc Project and I collaborated with the musicians involved on the improvisation and melodies as well as writing the poem source material.
